Alas. This will be the final prospect report of the season. That doesn’t mean I won’t be talking about prospects anymore. I’ll find ways to include them in sections on ‘editions’ of Stars Stuff, or talk about them in the chat or on that weird Notes feature that nobody really uses.

After all, all of Dallas’ top prospects are preparing for meaningful games in the immediate future. The Barrie Colts (CHL) clinched the Central Division on Tuesday with a win over Niagara, which means Emil Hemming gets an opportunity to change the narrative; the first time for the Colts since 2018. The Medicine Hat Tigers (WHL) are first in the Eastern Conference with four games remaining, giving Niilopekka Muhonen some added development. They’re also fun to watch because Gavin McKenna will be an absolute rockstar in the NHL.

Meanwhile in the NCAA, Ayrton Martino has a chance to really put the cherry on top of his impressive senior year with Clarkson University drawing into the Eastern College Athletic Conference Quarterfinals series, starting today. Aram Minnetian will face off against Justin Hryckowian’s brother, Dylan Hryckowian (an NCAA free agent, by the way) and the Northeastern Huskies. George Fegaras of Cornell will earn some more playing time versus Colgate beginning tonight.

And who can forget the Texas Stars? They’re currently second in the central behind Milwaukee. While I won’t be covering anyone on their roster as prospects at this point, with Dallas’ cap situation next season, don’t be surprised if Texas names pop up and onto the professional roster if just to have some cheap depth.

“Why are we talking about prospects? This is Cup or Bust year. I don’t care about prospects. There’s a major Dallas Stars matchup tonight! Come on man!” Whoa whoa whoa. No worries. There will be a gameday chat thread for tonight’s matchup since I agree, it’s a big deal. And you can always join my Discord with the 300+ Stars fans who need their hockey fix in every corner of the internet like I do.
