Given our history of developing offensive defenseman, Klingberg kicked the door in, and outside of that I can't name a true offensive defenseman that's been developed* in the Jim Nill Era.

(Drafted may be the propper term here, since a cup of coffe in the A isn't much in the way of development time with the Stars at the helm. Yes, there's notes and guidance along the way, but the majority of his development was done overseas and by other teams.)

Danford seems like the smart pick for the group, given its history and preference for playing style.

The Stars Scouting Staff almost ALWAYS leans to the OHL

I think that possibly comes from a derth of our scouts being locals in the OHL region. Im unaware of the full roster and location of Dallas' scouting department, but if I recall correctly, Sean has mentioned in previous offseason coverage that the majority of the staff was Ontario based.

The way I see it other than Bichsel the Stars don’t have standout D men in the lower system. If they can retain Tanev then I see the need for 2 starting D men. Suter has to be bought out period. I don’t think Lundquist will still be here. I am guessing Hak will be gone. The question to me is does Bich make the team and we trade or sign a FA D man. As much as I would like to see a high ceiling winger , my question is can we win with the same caliber defense next year? I think not. Now I think you take as many D men in the draft as possible and David has found what looks like some good choices.
