You actually gave me some hope about Dumba. It seemed like the Stars struggled all year at creating rebound opportunities.

It will also be nice to hopefully have a big man that finally has some bite (with all due respect to Oleksiak)

"Struggle" is the perfect word. They were 14th in rebound shots for, and 18th in goals off the rebound. Mediocre through and through.

Oleksiak was a Great Dane who thought he was a lapdog. He showed some moments where he stepped up, but it was pretty clear he wasn’t going to be the next Chara. He always seemed to want to be the next Brent Burns.

Those historical graphs on Dumba are super helpful and back up what my eyes saw in his last years in Minny. Cautiously optimistic that a new partner and some stability in his role and environment could yield a productive top 4 RHD.

Just curious about your opinion of getting Laine??? Of course our Fins can advise as to his character… as well as help mentor/manage him… but if Columbus is willing to take salary… at 50% that’d be a nice swap for Marchment :)))… imo… still a young guy with a killer shot!

I'd rather sawp Dadonov if we're going to move cap space in a deal, I don't think it would be a great swap for Mush considering the different roles they would play in the lineup. Outside of Marchment, there's not alot of nasty in the forward group and Laine as a replacement doesn't fill that gap.

If Harley takes two year bridge deal to line up with Laine coming off the books, I'd be willing to move some prospects & futures to make a deal happen to pick up Laine @ 50%.

If Hemming is the future, Laine is an excellent stop gap while he figures out the NA game in Barrie. Pick him up with the understanding that he's unlikely to get his next deal in Dallas due to cap constraints, but he can definitely rehab his game and secure himself his next NHL deal (see Suter in St.Louis for reference).

May the "Mitts off Miro" mantra of Roman Polak find new life with Illya Lyubuskin.

"Hands off Harley."

With these additions the stars now have 2 RHD that should play every night and Lundkvist in the put up or shut up year. Does this mean that we should expect to see miro on the left, with the occasional Harley overload shift in the right? Or should we brace ourselves for a smith, Lindell, dumba le booche bottom 4 of horrors?
