Dave Jackson? To be polite, if anyone needs a course on totally useless TV person, just watch him.

A door knob would do a better job.

He must know someone high up on this TV Network.

More and more, I am watching the games on mute. It lowers my blood pressure, and I learn absolutely nothing anyway when listening to these clowns.

Bissonnette is annoying but he’s also what tv needs. He gives his opinion and doesn’t unnecessary qualifiers. And when he’s wrong, he owns it. If he’s a 10, Dave Jackson is a -10.

Looks to me like Nurse slashed Hintz hard enough he couldn't even hold on to his stick with his left hand.

For me this goes to the old adage 'you are responsible for your stick'

I understand the view point people have that slashes happen like this all the time and don't get called, but to me, if you are gonna do something stupid with your stick, and it ends up catching a player in a spot and causes an injury, I don't see how that cannot be punished to the full extent

of the rulebook.

Ridiculous it wasn’t a major, ridiculous when it isn’t a suspension. Good for PDB for stating the obvious: if that’s their #1C the taking heads are howling and it’s a multiple game suspension. I’ve said this forever but it’s never been more true: best sport, worst league.

Minor league. A great sport forever to be a minor league.

A major league rewards talent and protects their most talented. A minor league rewards goons and sacrifices their most talented to “tough play”.

A big part of NHL’s problem is a lot of low-talent goons occupy positions of leadership throughout the league office and on teams. These guys would rather see Mario LeMeiux in the hospital than suspend the likes of Tie Domi.

I totally get the idea of punishing the act and not the result, but yeah, there’s got to be something better than this. The Hintz incident—“the Hintzident”?—is bad, but the Bennett hit on Stolarz in Toronto was INFURIATING: I’ll never claim to be a Maple Leafs fan but that made me very anti-Florida.

You’re unexpected like the Stars, David: I never thought a notorious naysayer like yourself would make me feel a little more optimistic about that disappointing performance 😉

After tonight I think you should, this team needs another top 6 center and he’s the closest we’ve got.

Haha. That's super kind. So thank you. Keep reading and I'll keep writing.

I've been thinking about doing a separate Substack where I write about the NHL at large so just saying -- never say never!

Totally agree on the officiating problem this playoff series. All the calls are inconsistent and unreliable. They either are calling every touch or letting dude get away with mugging. League and these players deserve better when they are doing their best to be the best versions of themselves. Officiating staff just need consistency so coaches and teams can adjust and everyone is on the same page.

When the rats when the cup now it’s a rat league, time to start acting like rats. How good is McDavid without another elite player around? No one knows, maybe it’s time to find out
