Enjoyed the read as usual. To me, there’s nothing better than having your favorite team possess a lethal power play and wow, to we have one right now.

Conversely, is there anything worse than your fave team being astoundingly ineffectual on the PP? 😅 DLLS Hockey chat cracked me up last night by saying, “Have you prayed to your Lord and Savior Steve Spott today?” Thank God they figured it out!!

I agree with seeding except that the Stars can't beat Vancouver and the Wild can't beat the Stars. Weird

“You don’t need to spend if you’re not adding value”: bars. There’s still time, but I’m starting to accept what you and your ilk have been saying the past week, that Nill may be content to stand pat. It helps that the team’s winning.

Also, I totally agree about Colorado! I thought those were strange pick-ups, and honestly… feeling pretty relieved to be in the spot the Stars are in, comparatively.

"The current stretch is nothing more than mathematical adjustment as far as I’m concerned. They deserved better outcomes, and now better outcomes have followed."

LOL, I thought the same thing when I saw the goal from Duchene and the third one by Wyatt.

How about getting Carlo for Dumba + Hemming + A 2026 2nd round pick that could turn into a 2026 1st round pick if we reach the Conference Final?

Good article David. We have a couple of guys on heaters that I am not sure are sustainable but still the whole offense is getting looks from the top to the bottom. The defense is what it is. You can only play who you have so nothing to do there. I think our 18 skaters are about as good as any team. It’s in goal where we are lacking right now. Otter is just hanging there. He gives up 3 a night and looks like no way could he steal a 1-0 or 2-1 game. That want cut it in the playoffs. Somebody has to put a bee in his butt or something. Hell even Turco stole a game every now and then.

You gotta go check out David Castillo’s piece on Otter in D Magazine from last week, if you haven’t already. I think it was good perspective on Otter and what he brings to the table.

With you Johnny until the Otter comments. He’s so solid in so many ways. Last night yet another game over .900 save % and he is third in the league behind Hellebuck and Vasilevski, very strong company. He basically kept them in it until they finally woke up.

He’s also a goalie who also seems to get puck support. If that is his puck movement or knowing when to freeze the puck or just dumb luck, he always seems to get a slightly better offensive outcome making headstands less mandatory.

Turco was amazing in the playoffs several years and we just couldn’t score. I remember the Vancouver series where we only won games in shutouts…

Feel like Nill will squeeze a fine print trade to call it a day. Something that involves a 6th rounder or a b level AHLer for a 6-7 dman. Probably more Hanley than Lundkvist but someone who is blocking an AHLer on a tanking team.
