It was a curious announcement this off-season when we heard Miro was working so hard on a slap shot… right as the league has generally ,over away from the blueline clapper as it’s become rather ineffective or at least inefficient. I would argue the goal last night is the exception that proves the rule that the slap has been less impactful than his wrister.

Never been a fan of the Slap Shot from the point . Prefer a good wrister that can be deflected and pinball in front of the net ( See John Klingberg )

In defense of Miro and his slap shot, I've noticed several "misses" that pop up on the opposite side of the net, right on the door step.

I think Miro's been working on playing it as a back board deflection pass, as much as he’s trying to drill one through.

Oetter may be the only player who can be wondering it there is time for bed bath and beyond regular season and turn into frank the tank post season and it all be just fine. Wedgewood isn’t taking the starting job there without something pretty substantial happening. So yes Jake, better late than never. All it takes is one good game because goalies are voodoo.
