I was at this game, and I spent a lot of time watching Lundkvist, Capobiano, and Petrovic. Allowing for the fact that St. Louis sent the B team, and ignoring the Capobianco goal, the eye test showed Nils to be the defenseman least likely to garner the coaching staff's trust. Capobianco's zone exits and passing were really good, and Petrovic was physical and consistent. Nils is fun to watch in the offensive zone, but he is not a fit for a contending team that values defense.

I agree on Lundkvist.

I still do not undertsand that signing for BOTH sides!

Was this a pure cash grab by Lundkvist since it was a 1way contract? He's not going to make that back in Europe and you'd have to think Jim (avoiding the confusing name overlaps) would actively hunt for a new home for the guy to clear cap space if he's not going to be playing. Marriage of convenience is how it looks to me.

"Thankfully, my eyes were not wrong about Mavrik Bourque on first watch. But more on him later this week."

LOL, stop teasing us!

But wait there's more...

Where he gets you is paying the separate shipping and handling fee.

I was expecting the clip from when Nils gave up a point blank shot in the slot after losing his man in the scrum behind the net off a rush, mid way through the first.

I missed the GF gaffe, but recall the latter due to him having a very impressive showing in the offensive zone during that shift.

Kind of an "Oh, yeah...That's why." moment for me.
