The 6th d spot is frustrating. In Smith you have the ghost of Suter as a vet you should be able to trust, but can you one more year. Lundkvist is a guy you want to see succeed but with this team you fear he’ll never have the room. Then Bichsel you want to make sure is ready, but also have the logjam to work out from the other two. Hard to see all 3 of these guys with the Stars come 2025 unless waivers are kind.
Absolutely love watching Bichsel play! Nill has to be careful with this kid. He’s got a mind if his own… and if HE thinks he’s ready, and gets sent down, he’s not going to like it. Just saying…
Slightly concerned about Bourque… he should be ok… he should make the jump… he should be a good NHLer… we all hope… but will he???
I think there is a real chance Bichsel makes it. Nill has been known to buck trends when improvement is staring him in the face

If Sam Steel set the model last season for depth player impact, I think we have an amazing group to fit that mold.
