If retention is possible, I wouldn't mind going after Kreider.

I don't mind the idea of building a worthwhile bridge structure for Bourque & Johnston by lining up another decent vet deal too drop off with Seguin, but O'Reilly & his 4.5m cap is about as far as id be willing to push that idea. Even with a decent cap increase incoming over the next few years, 6.5 is a bit to much too work with.

Too risky to gamble on him finding his form at RW with a new team whose success is built on strong system play.

I say yes to Kreider only if Dumba goes the other way in the package, with 1,5M$ retention.

Kreider is having a bad season, but would anyboby perform at his job knowing they are on the black list of the boss?

It has been so encouraging to see Robo’s game showing up over the last couple games. The team needs his contributions. It makes sense that they’ll be a rebound to closer to their averages, thus allowing them to get a few more goals, and more close wins. So standing pat with these guys makes sense.

A stronger Robo will certainly help the PP scoring issues… but it seems as though the PP has been tracking poorly since last spring. So it doesn’t seem “standing pat” on PP is the right answer.

Kreider would give us a proven net front guy, with size and that skill should remain strong as he ages. I’d prefer a change to add a cannon to the PP…. Suggesting getting Laine. Both players could be mixed into the lineup minimizing their issues - Kreider -age, Laine -2 way play.

Bottom line… the priority should be to change the PP if they want playoff success.

Foot Surgery takes a long time to heal because of poor blood circulation and perfusion . He should continue to get even better over the next few monts . Expect his play to reflect his finally healing from that foot surgery 😃

I don't necessarily want to do this trade, but I do find the idea intriguing.

Does the overall boost in depth make up for the loss of a young super star?
