To this, is Petro the new #7 or is he there purely because it is Lian needing a partner. Didn’t expect smith to be back next year but this speaks volumes to the expend ability of Dumba.
Also curious how this pays out for a two way contract. Spend all year in the AHL with your small pay but the playoffs for free w the big team? For the kids it is the sign of things to come but for Alex it’s not the case.
I think Petrovic has been a shrewd bit of buisness by Nill to stock defensive depth in the minors.
Personally wouldn't be a bit surprised to see Capobianco make a somewhat similar jump next season, after a full season getting himself used to the reads and finding situational awareness within our system.
Not saying he breaks out to be a super star, but I could see him being a valuable bit player next season.
No hard data to confirm my claim, but I do feel my personal eye test Back-s me up.
Bichsel seems set to make the Heiskanen move over his career to become shut down left shot RD. As an offensive foil to Bichsel, I could see Capo making a very effective 3rd pairing with Lian.
Stashing an 8th damn in the A is solid and what cup contenders have to do to stretch the cap that much further. Plus these guys are solid for helping develop younger talent too.
I’m with you on the comments but don’t forget about Lundkvist. I assume he will get a cheap 1 year deal since his final grade for the year is an incomplete. He should be a solid nightly option if he comes back where he left off.
Speaking of Liam …. The Stars have themselves ( FINALLY !! ) a Nasty ….. Darian Hatcher Type 😁😁 . He is still Raw and very young for a D man ,n but I sure am liking him back there . Best I’ve seen the Stars ply Live in a month !!
Idk if Connor Punnett will every develop into an NHL guy, but with 2 more years on his ELC it's worth checking on him periodically.
Dudes got that nasty in his blood and brings it every shift, whether or not the skill level ever reaches NHL readiness is another question.
Another guy I like for similar reasons down in Texas is Michael Karow. Definitely a long shot at this point in his career, but i love the way that dude brings the body.
Wouldn’t it be poetic for Duchy to send the Avs golfing for a second consecutive playoff series in a game 6 in Colorado?
Finally made Blackwood look like he was wearing a Sharks jersey. Great win! Nice to see the Moose show up. What more can you say about Wyatt Johnston?
Question David: How do you think will AND how do you think should the defense pairs look like once Heiskanen draws back in?

Great question.
Total team effort, suburb positioning and defending… and oh yeah Otter!!!
Let’s end it Thursday, and give Miro and Robo the extra time to heal up!
Fun game to watch!
Keep the Aves info coming too :))).

Ps… how did a goalie -Blackwood lose his front teeth???
File this under shit for later, but I think Dallas looses the Rantanen trade in the long run.
Stankoven as the new found leader of their prospect pool should make them an offensive juggernaut moving forward.
He's inadvertently paving the way for a defensive core that will be the envy of the league in a couple years.
But, with Iggy as a foundational loss in the process, you gotta do what ya gotta do.
Smith & Dumba are seasoned professionals.
Bichsel & Petrovic have gotten minimal deployment as a 3rd pair.
In an attempt to prevent in game fatigue for Lindell & Harley, could they prove to be a more useful duo in a KO game?
Can you trust two fresh leg vets to eat closer to 20 starts and 15+ mins TOI, in an attempt to get Harley & Lindell into some mismatch situation?
I prefer preemptive measures and would think Bichsel & Petrovic will likely be an attempted isolation point for Colorado's strategy next game.
Fresh out of dodge balls.
Got plenty of wrenches though.
