Granlund will definitely fetch something like that because GMs don't care about "analytics." They just care about Now. And since now Granlund is producing like the point per game player he's NEVER been, he'll fetch way more than he should. Not saying I disagree with you; just that his services will cost for somewhat valid reasons. Plus the market absolutely sucks, and he's one of the better gets.
good points! The market does suck and everyone wants it now! of course, he's a point per game play on the Sharks, there's not a lot of other options besides toffoli and celebrini lol....
My christmas wish is a Brady Tkachuk. It feels like we need some fiery locker room leadership....
A point to add here is that SJ has 3 retained contracts right now, so they can't soften that price directly. They may be able to take some excess weight off a team, but that's different than dead weight as he's still probably playing most nights.
But agree with DC, someone will likely pay it. Heck, might even get a first out of someone. Interesting take would be swapping your Nth round pick for a SJ N+1 which could end up only sliding a pick or two, or 15.
Exactly the question… who are these guys??? Nights with little emotion, lots of high paid passengers… or the team that is system oriented and makes the opponents pay???
Bichsel, does he spend the entirety of 2025 with the big squad? He certainly doesn't look like a guy that needs to be covered. Starting against the Blues to me says he did something right. How much rope does Dumba have once he comes back?
I still am not convinced that Miro is our PP Quarterback . It’s time IMO for Harley to be # 1 and even consider Nils for QB # 2 for a while . Miro is just not delivering on the PP
Is Miro getting that spot because of Norris vote potential, or because he's the highest paid Dman? I'm thinking of places he brings more value than Harley, and covering the shortie is the best one I've got. Sadly important for this team, but tough to call it a convincing argument.
Since we are talking about trades, how about getting Kreider from N-Y who seems to be on the trading block? And if so, does he represent a good option for our weakenesses and how much do you think he would cost?
While we are shopping for Seguin, I almost feel like the team should pencil in Pavelski under his name too. Tyler is the guy the team is missing and is a big hole to fill, but there is also a Joe sized hole that could also be considered. Kreider to me fills the latter, but that's a pretty good consolation prize.
I don't think Granlund is worth a 2nd rounder and a 4th rounder and a $5MM hit against the salary cap., Maybe a 4th rounder and we take $2.5MM...

We've thankfully got the 4 Nations Series as a proving ground for whether or not he's worth the assets.

With Bichsel showing he belongs and given the more limited deployment of RD's by TOI, would Erik Karlsson make sense with this group of defenseman?

F if I can tell!!!
