I watch most of the Texas Stars games, and Bichsel was either great or awful. Part of this is probably lack of maturity. Too many people seem to think he is ready for top 4 minutes at the NHL level, but I see him needing at least 1 full year in the AHL. That timeline works with Lindell's contract ending. At this time, Bayruether would be first call up. He seemed to really help Texas Stars defensively when he returned last weekend.
Ok we all know that Wyatt Johnston is a fixture in the Pavalski household but no one has said a word about where Stankhoven is living? Is he in a motel, apartment or? C’mon y’all should have jumped right on this.
Good article David I like reading your stuff because it seem to be straight up what is happening.
I've gone to calling the Johnston-Benn-Stankoven line the Tombstone line... Wyatt Earp Johnston... Stank Holliday... And Old Man Virgil Benn... Also works with O.K. Corral line...
The Tombstone line is cool, but outside of Wyatt what other reference do we have that makes it fit? I don't want to discourage creatine line calling...but I need more Timothy. More!
I am more than OK with that Top 4 D as long as it means that the 5 on 5 ice time of both Suter and Hakanpaa remains below 15 minutes.
And I say Hakanapaa and not Lundkvist since I'm pretty sure that the coaching staff will live and die with that D corps for most of the remaining of the season and all playoffs.
This would be a great read. Your back and forth takes on why Bischel is ready; what you’d expect to see if he did play for Dallas after Swedish league is over; what it would provide long term getting NHL reps now; etc.

As long as we can have healthy discourse/debate I'm happy. This is all about a game/sport, sports and games are supposed to be a fun.
I quite enjoyed it. Also, we need to put Gavin on the spot more often anyway. Sports are fun...until he starts referencing plus/minus (kidding?).

The Timless line? In that show there's a character named Wyatt Logan... And Benn is just old...

Stankoven's first name is Logan. Just call him Weapon X.
Nickname should be Puck Hound suits him perfectly
How about bulldog? He’s always hounding the puck!
