I really think Marchment was an underrated player. The things he brought to the table didn't measure as easily as the other two on that line but he's the kind of player that makes life easier on the guys he plays with and makes everyone else on the ice better.
If he could only take fewer penalties, he'd have been worth the salary. I think letting him go was the right call, just from a Cap perspective, but he'll still be missed.
Bastian looks like the best option if you look only at physicality.
I find that both Seguin and Duchene plays more like a duo than a trio. In other words, the third member of that line looks more like an accessory. Bastian would fit OK as an accessory who provides some muscles. But defensively, that could be a total nightmare.
I was gonna say it but you beat me to it: Harley needs to drive the top power play. I'll take two wins against the other top two teams in our division while on the road any day. Stars haven't figured themselves out yet, and we still came away with 4 points against the Presidents Trophy winner and the pre season Cup pick....lots of room for optimism.
Great summary.
Did the new coach said he was going to give Bourque all the chances to break out?
NHL coaches, the more they change, the more they stay the same.
PS The TV guys from Colorado are a torture for any person with a minimum of objectivity.
