If the Islanders become sellers, I still like your Noah Dobson idea. He would be a major upgrade, and will not need a contract until Benn, Lindell, etc. come off the cap.
For me, Clayton Keller. A winger with TONS of skill that adds to our power play and gives us some flexibility. He’s also locked up at $7.15 mil for the next 4 years and is only 25. He also already has 20 goals on the season. Arizona is a bad team that can take a couple of bad contracts off of Dallas’ hands and maybe we can find a way to get the right handed Durzi in a deal as well…. Just floating it out there. Perhaps shedding Dadonov, Hakanpaa, and including a goalie like Matt Murray might get something started.
I know we’re all pipe dreaming here, but that would be my target if I was going to move a 1st AND Bourque.
I wouldn't give up a ton, but Tanev to replace Hakanpaa would be a major upgrade. Walker would help with zone exits and offense. Seems to be a guy that would do well in DeBoer's system. And I don't care if Hanifin is a lefty. A top 3 of Miro, Harley and Hanifin would be incredible.
I'm also gonna go out on a limb and say if Dallas does get a D-man at the deadline, it's via a MASSIVE multi-team trade with a minimum of 4 teams involved.
My reasoning for this is a recent TSN trade rumor peice that mentions Ottawa eyeing Tanev at the trade deadline.
Ottawa, I believe, will be a seller at the deadline. They are #28 of 32 teams in the overall league standings. Outside of Stutzle, Tkachuk, Chabot, and Chychrun (maybe a honorable mention for Batherson), they've got a bunch of nothin...
However, if Tkachuk or Chychrun ended up here in an unprecedented miracle the likes we haven't seen since the 1980 Olympics or Jesus... I would have a newfound respect for Nill. However, I'd still prefer Clayton Keller, for cap purposes.
The team did so well to transition Cores from the benguin, that trade is grasping defeat from the jaws of victory. Bourque may never hit 80, but he is skilled and is cost controlled for a while. Top picks have been real good recently, and unless that is the #32 pick you are trading I don’t like that with a top prospect for a position the team already has. For a top pair RHD I would listen.
If we’re swinging for the fence with a trade for a Dman... and the cost is That High... as much I’d love him short term (Taniv is what 33 yrs old?)... I think we should get a younger guy that projects to be paired with Bichell for years to come!!!
Pay the price if you get a quality guys prime years 25-32 (guessing for dmen.)
I don't think there's a player on the trade board I would give that capital up for. Bourque and/or Stankoven are critical pieces in our ability to bring back Duchene.
I'd love to see Tanev come across but I would think he could be had for a first and Steel. Mintyukov isn't available but off the top of my head he's who comes to mind where this trade would make sense to both teams.
Every dog has his/hers day. Every dog makes mistakes.....even Miro. I’m going with those who get paid big bucks to run this dog ‘n pony show... look at some of the stats that have surfaced since Miro got hurt, and see if some didn’t step up....especially one who just completed his 1400th game.

I have no idea if he is available or not... Missed the trade board comment...

Don’t know if it’d be for the whole aforementioned package, but the idea of K’Andre Miller is very intriguing.
Sean Monahan might make for a nice forward add.

This was short lived. Lindholm is going to Vancouver.
Calgary has just begun their auction. It’s time to get Tanev.
